2 1/2 c confectioners' sugar divided
1 1/2 ts almond extract
3 3/4 c all-purpose flour
1 c finely chopped walnuts
1 ts ground cardamom

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and 1-1/2 cups of confectioners' sugar until
smooth. Beat in extract. Combine the flour, walnuts, cardamom and salt;
gradually add to the creamed mixture. Roll into 1-in. balls. Place 2 in.
apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350' for 15-17 minutes or until
edges are golden. Roll warm cookies in remaining confectioners' sugar. Cool
on wire racks.
